Who Hold’s The Purse Strings …… an Herbal Tea Luncheon, Saturday, April 6 beginning 12noon at The Preble county Historical center, 7693 Swartsel Road, Eaton, OH 45320. The education theme of the herbal tea luncheon this year is “Who Holds The Purse Strings” featuring Vintage Purses, Pocketbooks, & Reticules, presented by Jan Brady.
The delectable and informative herbal tea luncheon will be held in the historic Sayler Swartsel house at the Preble County Historical Center, (accessible off St. 122, 6 miles SE of Eaton, 1 mile NW of Gratis).
The menu will feature tasty yet healthy herbal recipes, including soup, fresh spring greens with fresh strawberries, an assortment of delectable tea sandwiches, fresh fruit, scones, fresh Clotted Cream, lemon curd, homemade jams, cookies, and lemon layer cake with Kumquats, Elderberry lemonade, and iced and hot teas.
Guests are invited to continue the tradition by dressing in their finest attire, wear a favorite hat of yesteryear, and of course, carry your favorite Vintage pocketbook! If you have a special purse to share with the group, please feel free to bring it to share its history on April 6.
