The Preble County Historical Society invites you to its Old-Fashioned Independence Day Celebration – A Free Community Event on Sunday July 6, 2014. The Celebration begins at 2:00PM and ends at approximately 11:00PM following the annual fireworks display. The Celebration will happen at The Preble County Historical Center at 7693 Swartsel Road, Eaton - Gratis OH.
2PM Raising of the Colors (2PM) at the Flagpole in front of the Saylor-Swartsel House – Presented by Cub Scout Pack 206 and Boy Scout Troop 402 of Miamisburg and Boy Scout Troop 248 of Dayton
2PM – 6PM The Cincinnati Circus (2-6PM) – “Run Away to the Circus” with PCHS – Flying Trapeze, Juggling, Stilt-walking Magicians, Bounce House, Inflatable Yard Games, and more! Sponsored by Power2Give project donors
Plus tours of the historic buildings and the nature trails
Plus special art projects by the Preble County Visual Arts Center
And Hueston Woods State Park Rangers and Animals from the Nature Center
Plus everything you need to know about education from the Preble County Education Center Sponsored by Sinclair Community College
2PM – 11PM Food will be available for purchase at the Carriage House Café provided by Buckeye Jake’s, plus Ullery’s Homemade Ice Cream plus the Johnston Family’s snow cones, cotton candy, pretzels, popcorn and caramel corn
3PM Music by the Eaton Community Band
4PM Music by the Eaton Community Chorus
6PM Evening Program begins with the singing of the National Anthem by Sophia, Tess, and Grace Murphy followed by the 2014 Sara Swartsel Hall of Honor Inductions at The Amphitheater and dedication of the Plaques for the 2013 Inductees in the Hall of Honor Garden.
7:30PM Music at The Amphitheater by Brittany Isaacs and Thumb Up Sponsored by Running W Studios
