The Gaar House Museum will be open for Heritage Days

The Gaar House Museum will be open this weekend for Heritage Days. 
It is open for self guided tours Sat. and Sun. from 10:00 to 4:00. 
The cost is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for youth 18 & under. 

The Gaar House is featuring a Gaar Scott steam engine at the Wayne County museum that will be up and running thru the Depot District on Friday night, Sept 7.  The engine is owned by Sam Ertel.  His family purchased the engine when it was built in 1912.  The engine is in town to celebrate its 100th birthday during Heritage Days at the Wayne County Museum.  The engine will make a pass in front of the Richmond Baking Co. which was the corporate office for the Gaar Scott & Co. manufacturing farm machinery in  Richmond from 1871-1915.
