Affordable program allows youth to experience hockey

Miami University’s Jr. RedHawks program Session I is taking registrations NOW!  The Beginner and Mite/Squirt House Leagues start on October 16. The program offers a fun, fast, and affordable way for beginner youth to experience hockey and become comfortable with their abilities.

Basic skating, puck handling, and passing skills will be developed through fun games and activities, and features Miami University Varsity Hockey coaches and/or players at each practice.  The $95, eight week Beginner program is held on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:15.  The $315 House League runs through early March on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the Mites held from 6:15-7:00pm and Squirts from 7:00-7:45pm. The House League will also have 1 game per week on Saturdays between 1:00 and 2:45pm.

The Jr. RedHawks program is the first cost-effective equipment usage program in Southwestern Ohio, which allows more children interested in hockey to try the sport without the overwhelming startup costs. Beginner equipment rental is free, and Mite/Squirt House League may rent equipment for $4.00/rental.
