The Midnight Special story begins …. On a frigid New Year’s Eve show in 1976 when two local Cincinnati bands were scheduled to perform together yet only one band member from each group showed up. The two prompt professionals are the founding members, Gregg St. Charles and Joey Von Richter! That night was nothing short of a Christmas Miracle that continues, touring nationally becoming one of America’s Premier Rock N Roll shows! Midnight Special still has ALL of their vintage instruments and stage equipment from their 1982 tour “Empowered & Proud” making this performance a very authentic trip back to 70’s and 80’s rock N Roll with Classic Experience. That’s Their Story and They are Sticking to It!
Band members include: Kurt Dobkins aka KD on lead vocals, lead bass & rhythm tambourine, rhythm guitar. Gregg St. Charles aka Gregory St. Gregory: bass guitar, vocals, moog synthesizer, bass pedals, creative genius and spiritual leader. Joey Von Richter: lead guitar, double neck guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals and noise. Jeff Koehke, aka Jeffery K, Jeff “O”, Jeffro, or Beef, on drums, percussions, gong and many other inanimate objects he can bang on that will make loud noise! Jeff add power and drive that the band has been longing for! David K. Geoffries aka Dave Kern, Kernie, Lu #3, on keyboards, piano, vocals, synthesizers, magic organ, science officer, tech geek, and auditor.
For a great evening of cool classic rock at The Amphitheater, mark your calendars for July 20, gate opens at 5pm, concert at 7pm. No coolers allowed. Food and beverages available on-site.
